MASSIVELY MONOCHROME...
Mass is a deceptively challenging concept in ikebana, as it can seem counterintuitive to include more than just a few pieces of material when making ikebana arrangements. Even so, Mass is an important element to understand and use well.
In this challenge the idea is to create an arrangement using mass BUT with the bonus challenge of working in a monochromatic colour palette. So pick a colour, any colour but stick with it! Of course tones and tints of that colour are acceptable but overall it should give the sense of a unified work strictly within one segment of the colour wheel.
You may use bought or foraged materials for this challenge. (Remember if foraging on land that is not yours to ask permission of the land owner first.)

The ikebana artist with the winning arrangement will be notified the week following the deadline. Their arrangement will be highlighted on the Hanakuma Ikebana Website and the prize will be posted to the address nominated in their entry email.
