May has arrived fast on the heels of April and the days are already flying by! So now without further ado it is time to reveal the theme for this month’s Hanakuma Ikebana Challenge!
Baskets of Bounty!
In Sogetsu Ikebana we sometimes use baskets in which to make our arrangements. Often these are for Maze-Zashi arrangements but its not strictly restricted to only Maze-Zashi. After last month being quite the demanding challenge this time you can do whatever you want so long as it involves a basket in some way or other. Your basket might be traditional or something quite modern, self made or purchased and as ar as the arrangement is concerned feel free to use as much or as little material as you like without restriction. You could still choose to do Maze-Zashi or perhaps Mori-Mono?! Simplified, deconstructed, unconventional material, the sky is the limit so let your creative juices flow freely.
I’m very keen to see what everyone chooses to do so be sure and get your entries in before the deadline.
This months prize is also fresh one of mine from the same kiln batch as the scroll vase from last month. If you’d like to see the prize just scroll down this page a little further. I can’t wait to receive your entries.
